Buying a barrel horse?

First off, you should know that no matter how far away a horse is or isn't...never ever buy him without seeing him in person. You never know if your getting some crazy lame horse that has never had a day of training in his life! Also, it's hard to say if your price value is good or not. I think you can get yourself a pretty good barrel horse with that amount, but if you want to run in the NBHA 2-D and 3-D barrels, I wouldn't buy one that was much less either. Another option would be buying a 2 or 3 year old that is green and spending the money to have him basic trained and barrel trained. It won't be much less than if you bought a horse that was already trained, though. Well, good luck and I hope you find that special someone horse!
